There are several brands of vent visors and bug deflectors available on the market today - which ones do you think are the best for your money?
Auto Customs employees have experience with most of the major brands out there and AVS (Auto Ventshade) by far produces the highest quality and most sturdy products available. We've all seen those cheaper brands or universal fit bug deflectors and have ended up gluing them to stay in place or had to replace the bug deflector when a rock hits it going down the road. I have even made little bumpers from clear caulk and glued to my hood so the bug shield wouldn't bang against and scratch my hood all up anymore.
You won't have any of these problems with AVS in-channel vent visors and bug deflectors. We recommend the in-channel vent visors because they fit so much better and you don't have to glue anything to the outside of your vehicle. I don't care what they say - after 4 or 5 years of weather, the glue starts to come lose and you end up with a flapping vent visor in your ear going down the road.
All AVS products are made for a heavy duty molded acrylic that holds up for years and doesn't break or crack under pressure. One customer said, "these are literally the most heavy duty bug deflectors I've every seen." The need for a well-made bug deflector is vital to protect your vehicle. AVS made bug deflectors for cars too, not just trucks and SUV's. All you do is end up putting scratches on your hood with the cheap deflectors because they don't sit still while driving. AVS bug deflectors stay in place after installed and they don't come with those little rubber stoppers because you don't need them! They stay in place and do their job...what else do you need?
Q: I have a 2004 Impala that the blower motor does not turn off when I turn the car off. I have to unhook the battery in order to turn off the blower.
A: Your problem is most likely caused by a bad relay going to that blower motor. Most relays are located on a block on the passenger side - check your owner's manual for the location and which relay goes to the blower motor. If you're not sure which relay is which when looking at them, try checking them by letting your blower run and unplug each relay one at a time and see which one turns the blower off - once you find the one that shuts it off, replace it.
Ethanol is growing in popularity, and major automobile manufacturers are starting to come out with new vehicles that run on E85 fuel. But what is it exactly? Does it work? Should we be burning our food? And most of all, should you, the consumer, consider an Ethanol-driven automobile for your next purchase?
