I have a roll n lock (full metal jacket) on my dodge dakota and I love it. I have a F150 on order to replace my dakota and it will be here in a month and the first thing I will do is go get another one. Was this comment helpful?

With the new units box dimensions, explorer rails, End Gate soft seal & new clamping system make this generation model install, fit and perform better and easier then ever. The previous generations models had included cargo lighting while this one doesn’t The Remote FOB for the older models had open/close and cargo light functions on it, and at half the size of the new one, which only opens and closes with a very confusing label of 1 & 2 on the buttons instead of open/close. Combined with it’s grotesque size, a fail. What also would have been nice, is my last unit came with an accessories brochure so that I could order the rear box mounted control switch in case I didn’t have my remote with me, I could drop the tailgate and push a button to open the cover.(which I think for any number of scenarios an emergency control button should be included and mandatory to mount in the box of the truck. And as I hinted at before, a new generation of LED cargo light would be nice here too.
I think Pace Edwards has a superior product to it’s competitors, but needs to work on Web design in showcasing product and features better. Fine tuning what comes with and doesn’t come with info, and making sure it suggests and show or details those extras better. and makes them easy to find or ask for. Example, I carry Thule Car & Truck racks with the contractors adjustable rack in my available inventory. it is a well know product. trouble is, with it installed on a truck, no tonneau cove or side box accessory can be installed.
Now Pace’s Explorer rail system with the same racks, could offer more to potentially 1000’s of customers. But the details of this system are sketchy at best on the web site. No close ups, pic or vid. no product feature details,no pricing, no specs etc etc. I have showed off my explorer rail system, with a thule bike rack mounted to it, to dozens of dealers and hundreds of potential customers for Pace and or it’s distributors. And still I go to the web sites, and I know more about the product through phone calls and personal use then any site I’ve seen so far. This would make it ver difficult for auto accessory dealers nation wide to sell, and even harder for consumers to wanna buy through their own searching.
I hope this really helps, I am a huge fan of the product, and promote it whenever I pull out of the driveway, sometime even in the driveway or parking lots of where I stop.
Seeing the huge potential this product has to expand it’s market success I hope I’ve offered some insight from a consumer/business owner perspective. Was this comment helpful?

I'm very happy with my Pace Edwards Bedlocker electric tonneau cover with Explorer Rails on my 2010 Ford F-350 Lariat Crew Cab Dually with 8-foot bed. A mislabeled part number on a set of standard rails was quickly taken care of, and a new set of Explorer Rails was drop shipped to me from the manufacturer. My installer informed me that the install was easy and straight forward with no additional adjustments being needed after the work was completed. The electric motor runs smooth and relatively quiet. One great feature is that I don't have to open the cover all the way to get to equipment that I keep near the tailgate. If I need to use the gooseneck/5th-wheel hitch, I just open the cover all the way and I have an open bed without the need to remove the cover. The box sits up off the bed giving me full length use of the bed for boards and other gear underneath. It also takes up minimal forward space off the cab which allows for large equipment like ATVs with the cover open. The cover extends tightly against the locking tailgate making my gear relatively safe from prying eyes and potential thieves. The cover, rails, and box are all sturdy, have not loosened up during off-road driving, and the cover looks great. The only con is that the rubber seal on the tailgate end of the cover is not quite wide enough to make a good seal at the bed sidewalls. In heavy rain, I do get a small amount of water in the aft of the bed at the corners, so I don't store 'soft' gear close to the tailgate. Prior to installation, my 3-month blended fuel economy was 12.3 mpg. After the install, driving with the cover closed, my fuel economy increased to an even 13 mpg averaged over a 3-month period. I'm sure the 8-foot bed is benefitting from being covered more so than a short bed would. I'm getting an additional 26.6 miles on a tank of diesel. At $4.00 per gallon, that .7 mpg increase in fuel economy is significant over the life of the truck and cover. In short, the PE Bedlocker gives my truck flexibility in using the bed for storage and hitch usage without removing the tonneau, all while saving me money at the diesel pump. I would highly recommend this tonneau cover for any long-bed truck. Was this comment helpful?

I have a 2005 Nissan Titan CC with the Pace Edwards Bedlocker Tonneau Cover. Had the cover on the truck for a year and a half and have had absolutely no problems with it. Cover is fully motorized and is operated by remote. You can also stop the cover in any position. The remote can replace your factory remotes and operate the doors and alarm. The cover comes with an interior light that is operated by the remote as well. The Bedlocker is very durable and strong and looks great on the truck. Cover does not let water into the bed. Bed stays dry through the carwash and the monsoons here in AZ. At most there would be a drop near the tailgate but only if water was sprayed directly in from the back. I heard some were posting that this cover leaks, must have been installed incorrectly. There are two little drain hoses that can be directed through the bed toward the cab. The only time I noticed water dripping from the hoses is if I opened the cover when there was water sitting on it. You will need to remove the utility track system and the cover does take up about a foot of the bed for those concerned. I would say it may be the best canister roll type cover made but is also the most expensive. Was this comment helpful?
